A Little About Me
I am an AHPRA-registered psychologist with a background in education and psychology. I began my career as a high school teacher before completing a Master of Social Sciences in Educational Psychology (when in South Africa).
Outside of work, I am a wife and mother of two boys. As a family, we enjoy camping, spending time in nature, and exploring new places. I also enjoy a good book, and spending time in my garden.
My Approach
I aim to create a safe, warm, and non-judgemental space where children, adolescents, and adults feel heard, understood, and supported. I recognise the courage it takes to seek support, and I prioritise building a strong therapeutic relationship grounded in compassion, respect, and trust.
My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and tailored to each individual. I holistically view each person within the context of their relationships, environment, and unique profile. I believe therapy should adapt to the individual, and I draw on evidence-based approaches in flexible, developmentally appropriate ways, often incorporating creative and engaging methods to support emotional expression.
When working with children, adolescents, and families, I focus on understanding the underlying needs behind behaviours, with an emphasis on emotional regulation, coping skills, confidence, and self-understanding. I also support advocacy when needed, including working collaboratively with schools and other key supports.
What Matters To Me
I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and families through challenges and change in a safe and supportive way. It is a privilege to help young people build resilience, develop self-awareness, strengthen confidence, and recognise their strengths and self-worth.
I value genuine connection, compassion, and empowering clients to develop autonomy and more helpful ways of thinking and coping. Seeing growth and positive change is one of the most meaningful parts of my work. I am committed to helping children, adolescents, and families feel understood, supported, and empowered in their journey.
